The wildfires that roared through Alice Galicia’s neighborhood in Altadena, CA, destroyed every physical possession she owned. Nothing is left, it’s all gone — her home of thirty-four years, the photos of her children as babies, her son’s high school diploma. Everything. She fled to the American Red Cross shelter not knowing if her home would survive, and then someone showed her a picture of the smoldering remains, nothing left but the chimney.
